CHARLES OTIENO, Country Manager, FilmAid International,
Kenya has generously given his time and advice and worked
with Hot Sun Foundation on the outdoor Kibera Film Nights.
Getting involved with Kibera and Hot
Sun will help demonstrate the idea that communities like those
in Kibera can collectively rise out of poverty by creating
platforms to share ideas and innovate. Films can provide that
platform.

MARGO SMITH , filmmaker, Off Center Video,
Berkeley California, USA gave her time, expertise and studio
to author the CHARCOAL TRAFFIC DVD as well as host a fundraising
houseparty and send out materials to film festivals.
I relish the idea of encouraging making films in far off places
like Somalia and Kenya, with Hot Sun Foundation putting filmmaking
in the hands of local people. These films give us the chance
to see life as we don't know it and cannot imagine it.

Through Hot Sun, the ambitions of so many talented young
